Biography: An exotic kaiju from Tarrun’s Southern jungles, Vedarah is a carnivorous, mobile plant. Despite being flora rather than fauna, she acts much like how an animal would, moving about actively and reacting to outside stimuli immediately rather than over the course of hours or days. She does not posses eyes, or any other sensory organs for that matter, but appears to be fully aware of her surroundings.
Having apparently come from a lineage similar to that of the Venus Flytrap, Vedarah is a predatory creature, feeding on large animals, kaiju, and human beings. She swallows her prey whole, sometimes while still alive, and slowly dissolves them using acidic secretions in her throat and stomach. The bottoms of her feet, which have maw-like openings similar to pitcher plants, spit out any indigestible parts of the victim’s body, leaving a trail of bones in her wake.
Active predation, however, is not Vedarah’s primary means of obtaining food. By secreting a sticky, sweet-smelling liquid from her mouth and the bulbs on her tendrils, frill, and tail, she can make her prey come to her. Hummingbirds and flying insects, attracted by the odor, follow her in swarms- only to become ensnared and dissolved by her adhesive, highly acidic “nectar”. She absorbs hundreds, if not thousands, of the tiny creatures every day.
Of course, being a daikaijuu, Vedarah is also a skilled fighter. Her centauroid build and thick limbs make her a sturdy brawler, and the tentacles on her arms (which can extend an entire body length) give her a phenomenal reach. The acid coating them, as well as the inside of her mouth, is extremely potent and can, in time, eat through even kaiju hide.
In terms of ranged weaponry, she is well equipped. From her mouth, Vedarah can fire large, spherical globules similar to spores. These “spore” blasts violently erupt after traveling a short distance, releasing a scattering of smaller, explosive projectiles that are filled with her caustic sap. Extremely dangerous at close and medium range, it acts like an acid shotgun.
Vedarah’s coup de grăce, however, is a chemical weapon fired from her tail. A seemingly harmless spray, it is actually a powerful, highly-complex pheromone that can attract and irritate over three hundred species of insect. When utilized, it draws every bee, wasp, and biting fly within a two mile radius to swarm and attack her target. A frustrating, distracting, and thoroughly painful means of attack, it is dreaded by many.


Trivia: The softer parts of Vedarah’s body are comprised mostly of phloem, carrying sugar and liquid nutrients throughout her system. This tissue often leaks sap when damaged, giving the impression of a bleeding wound. Unlike the liquid she secretes to attract prey, this sap is not acidic.
